Thanks for stopping in to see what's going on in our stellar second grade classroom. My name is Lizzie Ortega and I am in my seventh year of teaching. I graduated from Sam Houston State University with my degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in ESL Education. Soon after graduation I married my husband in 2009. We lived in Houston for about two years where I taught third grade both years. My passion for teaching was confirmed from the very beginning of my career. 

After two years we decided to move to a smaller town where we had our son Caleb in 2011. I began teaching first grade, where I stayed for four years. I absolutely adored every minute of it. First grade is such an exciting year for growth in little ones. 

This year I decided is was time to grow and learn more. Teachers are never finished learning! I am excited to begin teaching second grade this year and share my experiences with my little ones on this blog. 

When I'm not teaching I'm busy being mama to this very active three year old and wife to my sweet husband. In my down time I love to read, craft, cook, and prepare stellar adventures for my school babies. I truly, passionately love my job.
