CLASSROOM TOUR {life's too short to have an ugly classroom}

Come on in y'all!

Mrs. Ortega's desk!
I made a fun little collage above my desk. I honestly spend so much time in this room that I want to enjoy every minute. I want to feel comfortable, motivated, inspired, and at home when I'm in there.
A variety of writing tools will be on every table for students to try out each kind to pick their favorite and what they believe will help them create their best writing.
Every table also has a holder to hold both classes' Writers Notebooks for handy use!
My kids last year LOVED using GoNoodle.com for our brain breaks. This is where we will print and post our GoNoodle "Champs" as we max out our favorite characters.
View from the classroom library.
Back to school books are ready to be READ!
My classroom library consists of both leveled books as well has books by genre and series.
Clean slate Word Wall. Ready to add so many names and sight words!
iPad station with these handy little iPad stands to charge, found at the Target dollar spot area!
But first, coffee. Always.

Girl and boy boxes for STAR binders.
A fresh and full bucket of sharpened pencils is like a bouquet of flowers to me!
Turn in trays thanks to the dollar spot at Target.
^We are calling these our Tiny Topic Notebooks for kids to carry around and jot down or "catch" their small moments to save for later.
The "reading tent" is always a favorite of the kiddos. This was a homemade project last summer with a dollar store hulla hoop, two yards of fabric, some black tulle, and a glue gun!

I will be using the "thumbs up" as a signal at my small group table if interruptions are allowed or not! Composition books are for reading and writing conference notes.

^Because pretty pencils make work even more fun!
