Goodness we have had so much fun learning all about weather. It seems like every year January is the PERFECT time to teach about weather because our Texas weather allows us to see EVERYTHING! What a lucky year to see snow at the exact time we are learning all about it. The kids have had a blast checking out kidsweatherreport.com also. I have a feeling we will keep looking at it every day until summer!
We also discussed the aspects of the four seasons. The kids chose which season was their favorite and wrote all about it. No surprise...summer was the favorite! I'll try to not get my feelings hurt by that ;)

We brainstormed all of the things we know about weather and kept adding on to our list as we got further into our unit.
And did you notice we are tv stars!? Meteorologist Shel Winkley came to visit and talk to us all about weather and how his job works. On the news that evening he said that we were a great audience with great questions!
We ended our weather unit learning all about the clouds. We had fun taking some time to go outside and observe the clouds. We noticed that clouds can look like many other things like lions, flowers, and even 2D shapes!
