P-6 Farms

We had an absolute BLAST at P-6 Farms yesterday. It was a beautiful day with lots of cool breeze and shade from the huge trees. The kids explored everything there was to explore! Here are some photos that I captured during our special day. Enjoy!

Voting!

We had a blast over the past week and a half learning all about the voting process. Our main vocabulary words were voting and election. We read a variety of fiction and non-fiction books to explore the meaning of voting.

To really understand the meaning of these two words we held a first grade election. All of the students voted to elect a fictional storybook character as our "First Grade President". We created a little voters booth in our pod for all first graders to vote in. They could vote for Duck, Grace, or their teacher. They also created a voters registration card which they had to take with them to vote on election day.

They also created a little "I Voted" sticker to wear home that day.

Grace received the most votes, with Duck as the runner up.

We had a blast experiencing the voting process!
