Storybook Character Day!

We had a blast today sharing our love of fiction storybook characters! I want to thank all of the parents who took the time to let their child participate in this memorable day. You are all awesome! What's Going On (Week of October 22)

Good afternoon parents! Below is a copy of our weekly newsletter and homework. You will also be receiving a permission form today for our P-6 Farms field trip. This will be the first time that the first graders at Creek View will be visiting P-6 Farms. We are excited to start a new tradition! If you would like to commit to being a chaperone please designate that on the field trip permission form. The sooner you turn in the form the better! Click HERE  to visit the P-6 Farms website!

Skeletal Framework and Math Tubs in Action!

Last week we learned all about our bones and how they protect our organs. We will get more into the actual organs next week. I was able to capture a few moments of Science this week. One day we cut out, put back together, and labeled our skeletal framework. Also, on Friday we created our skeletal framework vests identifying our collar bones, ribs, spine, and shoulder bones. The kids had a blast!

We are really having so much fun at our math tubs lately. The kids are loving the more challenging activities in each math tub, and they have become very responsible with the materials and procedures. Here is a quick look into our math tubs in action!

Book Flix

Hello parents! In class we have become very familiar with the computer program Book Flix. This is a program that our school subscribes to that allows students to read along with the books offered. They absolutely love it! It's a great way to get your child interested in both fiction and non-fiction text. To get to Book Flix follow the link to the right under my "pages" tab that says "Creek View Library". If it prompts you to select a school, please select Creek View Elementary. From there you will find Book Flix as one of the options. Enter the username(cvlibrary)and password (gators). And happy reading! Lizzie Ortega

Week of October 9

I hope everyone had a wonderful Columbus Day weekend. I am so thankful for those of you that made the time to come meet with me for parent conferences over the past couple of weeks.
